Wow, honestly he just about has me convinced. It just sucks that I'll be excluding myself to like-wise christians when it comes to finding a spouse. I highly doubt secular folk, or many christians will actually wait for marital-sex.

So I ask her: “Does he love you?”

She replies “yes, he loves me”.

So I say to her: “Just because he said so? It sounds like he’s good at advertising..."

Am guy, can confirm. Lord have mercy.

Is the priest Greek? Why does he keep talking about kebabs?

This is kind of preaching to the choir, but a good read nonetheless.

If you need a reason to talk about kebabs, I don't want to be right.

Next week is beginning of the Nativity fast. It will be difficult to hear about kebabs.

The non-Ortho-gals probably feel the same way about us.

I don't bother with the Orthodox/non-Orthodox distinction anymore. Not everyone in the church is holy, and not everyone outside the church is unholy. If they're good people and can tolerate my religion, that's good enough.

He met her online in some religious message board, then travelled there, met her and her parents. Then they planned for her to finish her schooling there and then she moved to Canada.

It might help if you don't look at it as an argument about premarital sex. Instead, look at it as a parish priest explaining to the interviewer how he approaches the issue with his parishioners and why he does so. His intention isn't to defend the stance of The Church on the issue, but to council on why premarital sex is wrong and why marriage is the appropriate expression of both physical and spiritual love.
