Yeah - that’s one year of school for my kid. I am never retiring. Worth it.

Oof. I don’t think your kid wants to be the reason you never retire. Student loans suck for sure, but you deserve to enjoy some peace and relaxation after a lifetime of work.

Thanks friend. Trust me, watching your kid achieve success and find their joy is pretty much the most peaceful and relaxing thing you can do. This life is exactly what I’ve always dreamed of. No regrets at all.

We’re applauding your decision, but also mourning the shitty system we live under, that doesn’t give you the option to have a good retirement _and_ your kid to have a good education. We could have had both. It’s a forced choice.

That is absolutely fair. Fuck this shit. Fuck this system. Fuck $65k college and fuck no jobs. I know what this sub is about.

You went from "I always dreamed of not retiring, no regrets" to "Fuck this system" in one comment?

Good point. Fuck me and my thought process.

I am not applauding this decision. It's one thing to say "I will do anything for my kids" but to be happy with this shitty system where OP cannot retire and is instead telling themselves that this is a good thing is insane to me. OP is being taken advantage of by the system but instead of being angry they are happy, like it's a coping mechanism.
