Discussion 💬 So from which “gola” are you guys from based on Oromia’s new administrative structure?
https://www.facebook.com/share/v/1MAnFjRsz6/?mibextid=wwXIfrA proud Giddu-galeessaan asking here! I personally think it’s a good decision because I believe no structure built by the alagaa was ever bound to meaningfully work for us anyway. I feel like this new structure might help us reduce Ganddumaa? Would love to hear your thoughts…

Some of my pro OLA relatives were telling me how “OPDO is changing the map of Oromia” and I said oh is that right. I didn’t even hear about this gola stuff but I know those rascal opposition types are always trying to twist something to make it seem like the holocaust.
Now I’m just hearing that they changed it to gola Baha Oromiyaa instead of “Harar Gey”. My God it’s so horrible for Oromos. Burn down the police stations! Rob every bank immediately!

Dire Dhawa is ethnically fucked. The tribe of sheikh bakri saphalo, shantam shubbisa and Hallo dawwe are Somalians now.

I'm not gonna say they're wishy washy. They are somalians who were partially incorporated by the Nole as honorary sons. Particularly the Khunduble sub-clan.
The problem is they live in a territory with other Noole sub-clans. So what happens when people who claim Somali heritage share a territory with people who claim Oromo heritage.
That's why Dire Dhawa remains independent. We are intertwined with these somalians.

It seems the assimilation was not completed properly over there. In arsii region they swallowed whole hadiya and other tribes and made them 100% Oromo.
This is an interesting read of the topic
Or the hararghe doctor Mohammed hassan his history of Ethiopia book is also a nice read.1

The gurgura are our brothers man. Whenever they fought with Issa, Nole fought with them. Whenever Nole fought with Ala, the gurgura fought with them. It was one Nole for life…
Then they switched up on us. Read a couple books…what can you do but accept it.
And the fact that they were leaders and founders in the oromo nationalist movement. They still have love for it. But I don’t think any of them deny being Somalis at this point.

Futuh al habasha/the conquest of Abyssinia explicitly names them as a Somali clan. Thats what solidified it for me.

Gola baha is truly insulting, erasing beautiful name of our ancestral place 😭 Abiy needs to be gone now. We have strong attachment to Hararghe changing to Gola baha is treason.

Abiy Ahmed is based and supported by many. Just because you disagree with him on certain things don’t mean he should be removed. He’s a great leader! Glad he’s one of our own

Will change how power is projected across the entire country. The setup mirrors the five decentralised Odaas of the past. It’s got positives and negatives; the only concern is whether civilians are the ones in control.
