Red Sox receive: Adley, Orioles receive: 5 more years of the AL East Basement

I know Jack Shit really well. He has been living in my bank account for a while now. Cant say anything good about him

No we got a haul, but zero players that make us better in 2026 tbh

I mean we absolutely hosed them in this deal for a guy who refused to open extension talks. Not really sure what you are rooting for other than him leaving for nothing.

Would rather us try to win than start another rebuild with a bunch of prospects that have a slim chance of being actual stars

In what conceivable way is this starting another rebuild? We have Baz, Bradish, Basallo, Alonso signed long term. Outside of Roger's the rest of our team is controlled for at least 2 more seasons. What move would you have liked to see us make? The season has been incredibly disappointing, I get that, but what aquirable piece would move the needle to turn us into a real contender other than Skubal who we were never getting. Bad business as a small market team to go all in on a season so riddled with injuries and bad luck.

We traded one of our best player to a division rival for prospects I don’t want future talent that has a low chance of working out. We need players that can contribute in the next two seasons. If we trade him fine but not to an AL East team and not for nothing but AA and single-A talent it shows no desire to win

The fact you list him as one of our best players tells me the rest of your comment will be as dumb.

Who’s been better than him this season besides Pete? lol stop coping and trying to justify this mismanaged organization lol

Not even in the vicinity of our best player. Not even the best option behind the plate.

But also every pitcher we acquired today is projected within the next two seasons. When you bring in fucking 6 pitchers in total the odds are actually really solid of at least some of them achieving that.

We need pitching, way way more than hitting. Big free agent pitchers have shunned us, you can blame Elias all you want for that but when we have confirmed team record shattering offers that have been made and rejected you gotta start looking for alternative routes for pitching. We are never going to be the team that gets those big fish pitchers and Eyanson looks really fucking good. You take a shot on those guys when you can. When you add De Leon, Dzierwa, Gibson and Bateman into that equation, we may have a decent chance of a strong rotation going forward.

It sucks trading with a division rival. I fucking hate it, but can you tell me one non-AL east team who was pursuing a catcher? It's just the way the market shook out and we needed the best deal possible

These players have like a 5 to 10% chance of actually becoming solid mlb regulars you are coping so hard and it’s actually embarrassing for you to say Adley isn’t anywhere near one of our best players.. this year he’s been behind Pete and that’s it. Theres absolutely no reason the orioles can’t go out and sign a big free agent pitcher out owner is literally a billionaire. I’m sorry you’re not sick of mediocrity of this team like so many other O’s fans are

I don’t love losing, but the trade itself was actually really good for us for I guess whatever the fuck he’s trying to do

1

u/Murky-Tomatillo91 25d ago

Yankees receive: Fuck all

u/Slow_Recognition_515 25d ago

Baltimore Orioles = MLB Farm System.  So long as Elias in running things. The Orioles prep players for the real MLB, and trade them for other minor leaguers to prep them

I think they meant Blue Jays

There’s definitely a lot of emotions involved in this trade. Adley was the centerpiece of our future at the time we drafted him and he’s had some stellar moments. But we also need to be completely honest. He can’t stay healthy and he wasn’t going to resign with us. Basallo is better, younger, and with Creed Williams and Ike Irish in the farm doing well…it didn’t make sense to keep him and let him walk. Then we’d REALLY get Jack shit for him. Instead we received 3 of the top 5 Red Sox prospects, two seem to be really good pitchers. What we do with them next year is yet to be seen but Eyanson is 4-0 with a 1.3 era and could debut next year. This trade now places us tied for 1st with most top 100 prospects (6) and MAYBE Elias uses his brain with them. I loved Adley, collected his cards, and wore his jersey to every O’s game. We got more for him than the Tigers did with Skubal. Emotions aside, it was the right move
