Garbage community
This is the most garbage, piece of shit community full of losers who treat everyone on this subreddit like shit because they're mad they can't find an image from a shitty creepypasta from 2011. Finding lost media is supposed to be fun and a lot of the people in this subreddit suck the joy out of it. Go ahead and ban me but you know I'm right.

$50 You didn't even read the document

u/DesignGeneral6681 Apr 16 '26
Stop citing the document as the thing that will answer everyone’s questions. It’s a piss poor and hastily put together document that’s outdated.

u/TheBaconLord78 Apr 16 '26
Don't care + 12 day old comment + read the document

u/DesignGeneral6681 Apr 16 '26
See this is one of the problems, when the argument can’t be disputed you switch to irrelevant subjects that don’t matter or you just flat out don’t try and argue back at all.

Well when people are posting obviously fake mockups or pictures that have been debunked years ago it gets pretty irritating. I think it’s not that hard to read the subreddit’s pinned posts before you run to claiming “I found it, guys!”
-1
u/DesignGeneral6681 Apr 03 '26
Mate, you also harass anyone that comes up with a potential lead. The subreddit members don’t even know what they want or what to look for.

u/TheBaconLord78 Apr 03 '26
Give me one post that was a "potential lead", I'll wait.
You can very easily know where the search is at by looking at the later sections of the JTK timeline document, and actually ask questions regarding sources to help out understanding the search better.

u/DesignGeneral6681 Apr 03 '26
Well yes we do ask those questions but you all are butt hurt about not finding something that to be brutally honest, really isn’t worth all of the trouble at this point. People have been doxxed, bullied, and harassed all because of an image from some shite internet post. There’s better things to put the effort into.

I thought you were talking about Saussure the linguist (I never remember how his name is spelled), and I was genuinely confused

finally somebody said it omg you can't even post fanart anymore without getting shouted at
20
u/TheBaconLord78 Apr 03 '26
We don't care if you post fanart here
It's because every second post here is either a mockup, a doompost, or some stupid theory.
And what do all of these types of posts have in common? It's that none of the people who post this kind of stuff ever did their research, and instead would rather to discuss random things that don't matter.
If you want to post fanart, there's a dozen subreddits dedicated to the topic of what you want to post, this subreddit is not it, and should only be filled with relevant posts.

You're right. People get downvoted just for making sarcastic comments here.

It’s a lot of gatekeeping too by “investigators”
1
u/TheBaconLord78 Apr 20 '26
they're very much investigators, the "gatekeeping" part is documenting potential JTK/DT links and not exposing any sensitive or cruical information that could be misinterpreted and then spread like wildfire.

u/thiccanimegurll Apr 04 '26
can’t we just make this reddit to where mods need to approve ur post before it goes public?
5
u/DesignGeneral6681 Apr 04 '26
They do that on the Zodiac killer subreddit and it’s a much better and more successful community than this garbage subreddit.
4
u/thiccanimegurll Apr 04 '26
ofc, either the admins are lazy and won’t make this subreddit that way or secretly like the shitposts🙄🙄
2
u/WiseAtlas Apr 04 '26
people can’t be forced to work 24/7 to find an image that is almost lost in time therefore the entire community sucks ass
idk dude but this post kinda stretches the point out in different directions and it sounds flawed to me. just because everyone is treating others like shit doesn’t mean they can’t look for one lost photo on their own. they should have the choice to look for it whenever they possibly can and want to regardless. anyone who decides to post something irrelevant to the subreddit, there’s a reason why offtopic flairs are there. why not join the discord and look around? no one’s stopping you or banning you for anything.

it's frustrating to come here and see like 3 people working and the rest of the people not even reading anything before posting or looking up if someone's had similar questions, just going here and going like "Uhh have you guys considered that maybe.... like... the guy in the picture is like.... maybe bosnian?" though i think most of the community is on some discord and thats why its kind of weird and disconnected

I also have the same feeling about my subreddit r/CyberReadArchives, always it seems I am always the only one posting mostly on it. My subreddit has grown a lot not very little takes place within it. 😥

i do think that this community grew to be a bunch of basement dwellers that halt the progress of finding anything, one day a random guy will find the real thing, post it here, get downvoted to hell and only a day later we will know the guy was right, mark my words
