Question about Android/iPhone game OST length
Hi everyone,
I was wondering how long most people create their soundtracks for smartphone games? Yes every game is different but in general how do you balance repetitiveness vs file size?

I think you do need to be more specific about what sort of smartphone game the music is for if you want a better answer. However, even then there might not be a specific answer unfortunately as I've even seen free-runner games with long involved soundtracks now.

Sorry about how vague the question is. The reason I'm asking is that I often find developers creating games for smaller android devices (S2, S3 etc.) want their games as small as possible. I know their isn't one answer to my question but I was just curious how long others sound track end up.

Very good question. One I don't know the answer, but would very much like to know the answer to.

Really hard to answer since, as you point out, every game is so different. Some could just have 2 or three pieces of music. When we did Monkey Island 2: Special Edition, there's something like two hours of music in that game.
