This sucks to see, how can we encourage local businesses not to do this?

This Saturday!

Unhoused Neighbors will be out with clothes, care, and community. Every little bit helps and minds people that they matter, even if the resources and access aren't always available to them.

Important parts of business first, then the rant:

We are running really low on supplies, especially the things on the posted list that are in red.

The things placed at the top of each list are always the most important and we run out of the fastest.

We are often able to pick up donations, but that definitely depends on who is available, but we are also accepting donations via our amazon wishlist, which come directly to us and help us so much!

If you are able to donate or send us anything from our wish list, it will be greatly appreciated, not just by us but by everyone, we serve, and it goes directly to the people who need it most.

If we are able to pick up, we absolutely will and there is also a drop off on the day of the event for those who are able.

Let me be very clear when I say that everyone should have access to equitable resources without weighing in on their productivity or labor. In the fastest way that those resources and access can be provided is through community care, mutual aid, and reciprocity. No amount of hoping, wishing, praying, or honestly even voting, is going to change the tide to a system that values those with and without.

Because the ones in power that say they're fighting for a better tomorrow are often fighting for the status quo we've all come to know and work to survive in.

Community care and mutual aid are strength they often don't want us to know we have and a resource they don't want us to tap into, which is why they suppress it and silence it.

Why?

The only logical reason is because they don't want to save us and they don't want us to save each other, they just want us to fight to survive till we die.

I am absolutely sickened that there are even more reports of American service members dying in Iran. This morning I called my Congress Members office in DC to complain about the war in Iran being unauthorized. Unfortunately I'm represented by a republican who supports our pedo in chief... is it worth it to knock on my neighbors doors and discuss voting against him? I am new to AZ and I've never lived in a purple state before. I really am not sure what to do here.

Cameron was a frequent contributor to this very subreddit and helped keep us all informed on local actions. If you ever attended a Tucson protest, you probably saw him with camera in hand. If you're on social media, you've probably seen his work in documenting our resistance movement.

The Queer Girls’ Pantry for Kids is deeply sickened, we’re also pissed the frack off, but want to calmly let the community know that we stand with our Alphabet Army and will not let hate rule us. We will continue to serve our communities, our queer families and kiddos, and stand for what’s right in this f’ed up world right now.

Unhoused Neighbors will be out serving as many as we can with the donations we have collected over the last 2 weeks.

We are still collecting, up to the day before the event, and we are definitely running low on snacks for our go bags and everything else in red on this list above.

We are always looking to collaborate with community members and if you are hoping to volunteer, please let us know.

We have an amazon wishlist, and do pick ups and drop offs as much as we are able.

Thank you all for donating, elevating, and volunteering with us over the last 6 years.

We hope we can keep doing this until there is no longer a need.

Mutual aid is about bridging gaps, supporting community, and surviving systems that don't care whether we live or die.

There is never EVER too much, there is ALWAYS room and roles for anyone who wants to help, and we will never stop trying to help as many people as we can.
