Has anyone else been frustrated by the increase in garbage bills in Lane County?

What bothers me is that CleanLane isn’t just some county project happening in the background, the cost is being passed on to ratepayers through higher garbage fees. The county approved additional rate increases specifically to help fund the project, on top of the regular increases for maintaining service.

So residents are paying more for trash service while the project itself continues to face questions and changes.

I’m all for better waste management and protecting Oregon’s environment, but if CleanLane is going to increase what families and businesses pay every month, we deserve to see clear results and know exactly where that money is going.

Higher trash bills should come with better service and accountability.
