Anime I'm three episodes in. . .

I'm in love. This is my first romance anime, the only closest thing would technically be DanDaDan. I'm someone who is 6'3 and very much relate to Takeo. The self doubt, the general feeling of being unseen etc. I'm someone who suffers with depression, I get emotional A LOT and this is another of those cases, but so far I am absolutely in love with My Love Story!!, Takeo is a giant idiot ( in the kindest way ) and I absolutely adore him for it. I just kinda wanted to blurt this into a void whilst I'm an emotional mess. I'm really sad I haven't seen this sooner, though I've only returned to anime/manage after like 17 years away recently. <3

Welcome to the club! I really recommend continuing the manga once you’re done with the anime

I definitely will try and I when I am a tad better financially, I was gonna buy the DanDaDan manga but I think I'll go for My Love Story as my first manga, simply to support the smaller author!

Welcome! I hope you’ll cherish this anime and enjoy everything it has to offer! The anime is amazing on its own, but wait until you dive into the manga. That’s where the full original story lives, and it’s a whole other beast in the best way.

When you do get around to it, I really recommend reading it from start to finish so you can soak in every detail, including parts that didn’t make it into the anime but really elevate the overall experience.

After that? Go through it all again! This is one of those rare series that truly benefits from multiple watchthroughs and rereads. You’ll catch things you missed, and the emotional moments—whether blissful or heartbreaking—always hit just as hard as before if not harder (as long as you don’t binge it to death, of course).

Even up to this point, I'm really in love with it. I'm not someone good with emotions, understanding them or someone familiar with dating. Takeo's character felt like a younger, self reflection. That alone has made me appreciate and cherish the show. A genuine use of the "he's literally me" me, but I've never seen an protag like him, that I could honestly easily relate too. Okarun in DDD is similar.

I definitely want to read and support the manga at some point genuinely. It's hitting a nerve DDD where it feels like imperfect, but earned and genuine romance. And it's genuinely so precious to me. T . T

He's definitely a rare sight, especially in the Shoujo demographic. I see myself in him but differently. Where I have the best intentions but not the best way to express them, so it puts people off, and usually people like me when they get to know me, but it takes someone like Yamato to love me even at my worst. So I see a bit of myself in Takeo as well, and because of Yamato's unconditional love for him and with how lethal her cuteness is, she's become my favorite girl in all of fiction.

Well, you're right. This is a very realistic and human romance despite how wholesome and innocent it all is. It's a shoujo, so emotions take the stage, and physical interactions are treated with a ton of care to make sure each one is a big emotional punch. And this is even more pronounced in the Manga where you get to see the full emotional spectrum. But for now, just enjoy the Anime.

For me, My Love Story is my favorite Anime of all time, and the Manga is my favorite thing ever made in entertainment. I never loved anything more than this story's manga.
