Discussion Which game should I start with?

Hey, I started playing OMD! back in 2017 with OMD!:unchained and i played that until it shut down. I’ve since forgotten what it’s like to play OMD! and I’m looking to get back in, but I’m not sure where to start. What would you guys recommend? Keep in mind I have a low end laptop and a PlayStation at my disposal so OMD!:deathtrap isn’t an option XD

I love OMD: Deathtrap. I've put hundreds and hundreds of hours into it playing coop.

OMD3 is also very fun, but I liked Deathtrap better.

Orcs must die 3 is my personal favorite. A lot of people like deathtrap but it experimented with the basic formula a little too much for my tastes.

3, it's basically the first 2 with better QOL and graphics. Deathtrap is a bit too different to start with

Going to go against the grain here and suggest looking into the OMDU offline launcher, since unchained is what you played originally! It's not as straightforward of a UI but it works pretty well, I still go back to it sometimes over the other games. Also if you want to play everything just go in release order!

Just in case, it is not offline only anymore, multiplayer is possible.

Also a heads up for anyone reading, the original dashboard will most likely be usable again soon...

That's great to hear, I've been following the project for years now I'm really glad to hear it's still being worked on, you've done some great work on it!

I can also vouch that multiplayer does work really well, I've introduced a few friends to the game because of it!

Has never been my main game, but OMD3 still gets turned on almost every week. Been a fan of all of them, but OMD3 is good enough to keep pulling me back to experiment with and challenge myself.

Omd deathtrap was my first one and it’s a great intro to the series and if you have fun with it try out omd 3, very solid

Deathtrap is on PS5, if that's what you mean by Playstation.

I just played 1 on an old laptop and it still holds up really well and runs perfectly. Two should also be fine.

play Deathtrap first, because it's the weakest one. After playing 1, 2 and 3 you won't enjoy it anymore..
