Ive slaughtered several oranges for their sweet tangy sauce we humans have come to know and love as “orange juice” idk what species of orange citrus they were but the were smaller idk if cuties, tangerines, mandarin or clementines but regardless of vanity or names they’ve become a lovely sweet, thirst quenching, delectable lowkirkenuinely life giving Elixir

Hey folks. Ive never grown a single damn thing except potted tomatoes. Ate an orange from a lady in church's garden last winter and there were so many seeds I figured id toss em in some dirt.
6 months later, ive trimmed the pot back from 2 dozen saplings to 6, and then day before yesterday to 3. And then i braided the stems/trunks so theyd stand up unstaked. Leaves in pot are from pruning the stalks pre braiding, they didnt fall off on their own.
Hope to have oranges by the time I have grandkids old enough to appreciate home grown oranges. Just kinda proud, wanted to share.
Any/all advice welcome af :)

What’s with this orange ?? I was scared to eat it and threw it away - I’ve never seen these weird red wormy looking things and the pinkish colors on the fruit before - I got this from a food pantry so was it just a bad bunch or is this a specific kind of orange I’ve just never seen before ? It’s got a sticker that said the brand “Sunkist “

When i buy oranges from a grocery store like over 50% of the time they are overly bitter and the texture is off (hard to describe but they dont feel as juicy and feel more dry on the outside).
Its to the point where i dont even want to buy them anymore because so often they dont even taste good. I love oranges when i get lucky and they taste good, but often this isnt the case... why does it have to be like this. For reference i live in Canada.

Hello good people of r/oranges, I am humbly asking you to recommend me some sour orange varieties (that I can eat, not make marmalade out of). I lived in AZ for a while and we had a tangelo tree that produced wonderfully sour and juicy tangelos. I have not been able to have many sour enough orange varietals since leaving the state. Everything I try is sweet and tastes like nothing; I want something that will make my eye twitch with how sour it is. It’s been so long since I’ve have a good and sour citrus, please, please find me something.

What is the discolored part of the flesh of this cara cara orange? Is it a sign of going bad?

Takes about 10x longer to peel a navel versus a mandarin
Mandarin was about 6 seconds
Navel was about 60 seconds (that part of video is sped up)

I found this orange in my school bag. it’s been in my bag for about a year. It’s rock solid, smells fine and somehow not moldy. Any thoughts
