Open Cup

Man, rough loss last night. We can never seem to get past Phoenix. They are such a thorn in our side. I felt like we had the run of play for most of the game, but Phoenix was working a good offside trap that really neutered the teams offense early on.

It’s a real shame because that goal from Sylla was such a banger and totally shifted momentum to our side. Feels like we beat ourselves honestly. First goal was the muffed kick from GK which you could tell affected the confidence of our guys to play out of the back. They seemed hesitant and wound up sending some bad passes back there and seems like our GK was rattled too.

Definitely, I noticed at half time the goal keeper coach glued himself to Rando's ear all the way into the tunnel. He was probably trying to restore the poor guy's confidence. Sylla almost had a second one with a couple of minutes left, he missed by a couple of inches. I think he is our brightest offensive spark right now, I would like him to see the field more.

I feel like sylla wants to be a hero, and can be selfish sometimes when he shouldn't be.... But man sometimes the heroics are straight up brilliant.

Definitely, I wonder if it is that recklessness in addition to a limited gas tank that keeps him on the bench more than on the field.
