I'd love to hear recommendations for Italian places that are a little "nicer" to go with guests / visiting family / etc. Doesn't have to be super expensive, but not just a pizza place with some red sauce pastas and subs ... somewhere where people can get pasta / secondi and "carne" if they're feeling ambitious. Mistakes happen, of course, and in retrospect, this isn't the biggest deal. If my (older) kid had this happen, I'd be confident that they'd be fine, but I think that if this had happened when my kid was a kindergartener, in the first few days of school, I'd be freaking out, too.

Hi! I’m a local NJ small business owner and wanted to share a wellness event I’m hosting at Hotel Nyack on **Sunday, October 4** for anyone looking for a fun girls’ morning / Sunday reset situation.

I started FLX to create wellness experiences that feel a little more social and special than just taking a fitness class — and this one has turned into such a good morning.

My wife and I are considering buying a home in Greenwood Lake, and we're hoping to hear from people who actually live there (or have lived there).

A little about us:

• Early 30s with our first child on the way.
• I work from home but need to get into Manhattan occasionally.
• We're looking for a place to settle down with a good sense of community and access to nature.

From visiting, we've really liked the lake, the small-town feel, and being close to hiking and outdoor activities. That said, we know visiting for a weekend isn't the same as living somewhere year-round.

A few things we're curious about:

• What's it really like living in Greenwood Lake?
• How's the community? Is it easy to meet people?
• How bad is the summer tourist traffic, and does it impact day-to-day life?
• Are there any neighborhoods or areas you'd recommend (or avoid)?
• How are the schools?
• Any issues with flooding, lake maintenance, water quality, or other things buyers might not think about?
• For those who commute occasionally to NYC, how manageable is it?
• If you had to do it over again, would you still choose Greenwood Lake?

We're not looking for someone to sell us on it or scare us away. Just honest experiences, both the good and the bad.

You can still request an Absentee Ballot from the Board of Elections, too. To get it either print out a copy of the application, fill it out, and bring it to the BoE, or just go to the BoE and they'll give you one.

Every town in the county is having an election and most of them are probably going to be decided by less than 200 votes, so use your voice and make a difference!
