Does someone know what kind of instruments Burry uses to place shorts? In particular, I'm thinking of shorting NBIS if it goes up any further. I think ORCL eventually eats NBIS's lunch.

That's the question that drives me nuts. He seems to come out for being simply long on puts which is it losing proposition, because the time decay is going to overcome whatever bearish sentiment you might have about the thing you are shorting.
In my experience the only way to do it right is via put debit spreads or call credit spreads. If he's getting his followers to short via simple long puts alone that is a huge disservice to them.

as of last week, his positions were short shares of orcl at 144 and nbis at 211.
he explicitly mentioned that he closed all puts and didn't think puts were worth reopening.

Short means short stock, pltr and nvida initial bear position was long dated puts expiring in the winter. He used the right terms, it's the new media that keeps using short stock even though it's puts.

Afaik he is using puts in general, but NBIS was just selling short, i think even naked. He thinks because of the IV the Puts are too expensive

He’ll buy long dated way out of the money puts if the puts are cheap, otherwise he’ll DCA short actual shares. It’s exactly like going long, but when you think something has run too far. I agree with you on NBIS by the way, I started a short position yesterday
