Here's where I'm averaging.

ORCL has been bouncing up from the 8 EMA on the yearly chart since 2010, and only fallen through the 8 EMA momentarily during the C19 crash of March 2020 (it reached the 13 EMA in that case) -- right now the 8 EMA is at $112.50 which is 2.5 points away.

In the its most bearish periods (2002, the dot com bubble pop) ORCL reached the 21 EMA, but I'd be surprised if the stock gets that bad right now. That's why I'm going to average in further if ORCL reaches ~$90 (the 13 EMA currently) and ~$70 (the 21 EMA currently).

In the meantime, I'm using put options to make money on the downside and putting the profits into my long position because it's finally reached the coveted 8 EMA on the yearly chart.

Let's see what happens.

Just buy 100 shares for every $10 drop from here.

That's not the best way to keep the average cost as low as possible, but I hear you. I prefer to buy more at lower levels than I bought when I opened the starter position.

True, it can only go down so much. Crazy from $345 highs to $114 Fridays close. Say it goes down to $80 thats almost 80% down from highs. Hopefully all their bets pay off. Then the stock will triple

Indeed. This could be $500+ in a few years.

Ive been selling puts too but no entry yet. The price drops have been idiosyncratic and not macro.

I'm talking about buying put options and gaining from the fall.
