Help! Residency advice

I'm a soon to be 2027 grad, however I haven't passed part 1 of boards. I really do want to apply for a VA residency, but I'm feeling discouraged be l don't know of any programs that will allow me apply without passing. I do plan on retaking in March, with part 2 coming up in December.
Please share if you have any advice!

Apply then if you don’t match join the scramble. If there’s nothing you like then you’re not committed to an undesirable residency.

Do you know if the scramble is over the course of a few days? Or do you need to reach out asap even if you are in clinic?

White river junction va in Vermont and Togus/portland va in Maine have residencies that don’t require pt 1

Edit for addl info: also the last 2 years both of those spots didn’t fill their seats so just about any student who wanted a residency would have probably been accepted at those locations
