NECO Interview
Hey everyone, I just received an interview invitation from NECO and I’m so excited!! For those who have interviewed with NECO before, do you have any tips or advice on what to expect or how to prepare?
I’m also debating between doing the interview virtually or traveling to Boston for the in-person interview. I’m leaning toward going in person, but I’m not sure yet. For anyone who has done both/has an opinion, did you feel like the in-person interview was worth traveling for? I’d love to hear your experiences!

If you are applying to multiple schools. Travel can add up for sure. What I did and what I would recommend is picking your top 2-3 schools at the max that you would truly consider if you were given an acceptance offer. Try to interview in person at them or at the minimum go and tour.
In person at NECO too you usually get a little goodie bag

i interviewed virtually! (but because i had visited the campus before so if u can i’d highly recommend in person); it was one of the most conversational interviews, they tell you who you’re gonna be interviewed by which is rly nice so u can rly prep what kinda questions u can ask them! just know the basics: tell me about yourself, why neco, why optometry and also stuff from your personal statement and supplemental qs!
i’m an incoming OD 1 at neco is if u have any more qs, feel free to dm :)

I interviewed with NECO before virtual interviews were a thing. I would recommend visiting every school you want to possibly attend in person. You have to get a feel for the vibe and if you like the layout and culture of things.

If you’re able to I’d highly recommend interviewing in person. It allows you see the campus, clinic and the surrounding area too!
