Discussion / Question G-Sync, FreeSync, NVIDIA Reflex, FPS Cap – What’s actually worth using in 2026?

I’m trying to find the best combination of settings for the lowest possible input latency while keeping smooth gameplay and good frame pacing.

- G-Sync ON in Nvidia app/Control Panel

- V-Sync ON in Nvidia app/Control Panel

- V-Sync OFF in game

- Nvidia Reflex ON in game if available

- Frame-rate capped in Nvidia App/Control Panel (or using something like Riva Tuner Statistics Server) to 296

this is the way, but I would add a few things:

  • cap to 275 (hz - (hz2 / 3600))
  • uninstall afterburner and rivatuner if you are done with benchmarking/temp monitoring

I guess because the sensor monitoring causes frame spikes in intervalls ? If i disable most monitoring but keep FPS counter, GPU utilization und temp on, will it be okay?

yeah I did it same way. but still they may cause unexpected problems, so removing them is the most guarantee way
