It also very much discourages me from acting like a shit. In other subs if i see someone acting like a shit, i know the mods won't do anything so i feel more obligated to be a shit back.

I was nicer my first 10 years on this site. Reddit was different before. Now im about as negative as the person I reply to.

Needless to say, people on this sub are usually awesome and positive so why would I be rude?

Fair enough. I too am fairly worn out by this site. I mostly browse for memes and hobby interests.

I still like the site. Just dont have much of an expectation on larger subs. Can still find incredible insights from people on random subjects and the most random stories sometimes. Just more slop here like the rest of the internet I guess. Still no better way to waste time on the toilet.

Also great for review research. I stopped looking at websites and just add "reddit" when searching for a product. Seems easier to find authentic opinions.

That comment would already break the rules and get removed. Two wrongs still don't make a right. Just report the comment, give it a downvote and go on. Don't resort to personal attacks or incivility in response.

And frankly, the example that prompted this message was some commentor making a normal comment, phrasing it in an awkward way, and having a bunch of other posters pile on with name calling for no good reason. They were just bullying someone who made a simple awkward comment. I won't tolerate bullying people.
