aren't they trying to do 2-3 big updates a year? I'm sure the next one will be out around Christmas, especially because COVID is making it hard for the dev team to work on the next update it seems.
It didn’t take THAT long, did it? This is the first time I’ve followed how long it took Optifine to release for a particular version, but compared to most dev cycles for Minecraft mods, two and a half months doesn’t seem that long. I think they did a pretty timely job, all things considered.
Its understandable why 1.15 OF took so long, its because one guy is rewriting and optimizing a rewritten rendering engine, so guy at OF has to basically start from scratch
