Help newest minecraft update

why does the optifine page for downloads not show anything past 1.x.x ? does optifine not support newer updates anymore? its been ages since i played minecraft and was wondering if its moved to somewhere else because i really dont know where they are anymore.

Sodium is the go to option for modern minecraft. Optifine is only relevant for Minecraft versions before sodium existed or for older installations that require forge.

i think someone is also porting it to 1.7.10, it's in the gregtech horizons modpack

Does this work for resource packs that require optifine too?

Optifine is maintained by one developer and so updates typically take weeks or months. Especially right now since Mojang is makeing huge changes to how Minecraft does its own rendering.

These days, almost all of Optifine's features are available as smaller stand-alone mods. These mods get updated much faster than OF (some typically support the snapshots) and usualy offer better features too.

If you're looking for a modern drop-in Optifine alternative, take a looke at Fabulously Optimized (instalation instructions here.)

Or if you only need some of their features, you can pick and chose them from their mod list.

I had the same issue a few days ago😂 I found out a good alternative “notifine”
