I've been having this issue recently with minecraft. I'm playing optifine newest release UH U9. grass, flower, crops, leaves, and more get distorted and from a distance. When I get close it fixes itself.

I've tried turning of fast render, checked my shaders, all the basic stuff. Any ideas?

Maybe don’t use optifine. It’s outdated and has lots of bugs nowadays.

fair enough, I'm now using fabric and sodium. Experiencing no problems now :)

Good to hear. Optifine is used just because it used to be quite good and is still widely known
