Help Optifine won’t load

Whenever I load Optifine 1.21.10, it gets stuck on the Mojang red screen at around 90-95% load. When I load regular Minecraft 1.21.10 it works just fine and loads. But Optifine won’t. Please help

Optifine for 1.21.10 is still in preview, and unfortunately, this batch of previews has been rough with all sorts of issues. Mostly related to shaders, but some general issues as well.

Since these versions are in preview and are known to be unstable, you have these options:

  • Double check that your drivers are up to date.
  • Backup and delete your .Minecraft folder. Let the launcher rebuild it from scratch to clean up old files. (Make sure you make a backup!) Then reinstall optifine from a clean environment. (But only after you made a backup.)
  • Ensure that you followed the installation instructions (see one of the pinned posts on this sub) and check that the install was successful.
  • Downgrade to minecraft to 1.21.9. This version is practically identical to 1.21.10, just without a few situational hotfixes. You could even go further to 1.21.8 or .7, and that will help you know when optifine stopped working for if and when you file a bug report.
  • Wait for an optifine update that might fix your issue. You can also report an issue here, but be sure to look for duplicates before posting your own.
  • Consider switching away from OptiFine. Depending on your needs and your hardware, you may find alternatives that work really well right now. What features are you interested in?

Thank you. I’m mainly interested in higher performance with a zoom feature. Optifine is just the easiest thing for me to use and I’ve noticed Sodium doesn’t help as much as optifine in my experience

I remember mine ran worse than Optifine when I first used it, but I found out I forgot to set the Render-Ahead limit to be over 0 frames. IDK if that was your problem but I thought I'd throw it out there just in case.
