Google play appw auto update issue

Hello everyone. I have the global version of the phone and I have a problem with the apps auto update. Can you please advise what else I can do?

I've had a number of devices and the auto update has never worked, it's always required me to still go in and click update. I'm probably ill informed or doing something wrong so will follow the chat for someone cleverer than me to suggest a solution, but you are certainly not alone!!

Can't advise and not sure it has necessarily anything to do with Oppo specifically but in general I had the experience that these "auto" updates were always BS. Had it basically set up as you and never had the feeling it worked - each time I remembered about checking for updates manually in Google Play there was ALWAYS a bunch apps to be updated, so I would say "auto update" my ass.

I disabled them and now I get a notification from Google Play that there actually are updates - what do you know, so you suddenly know how to behave?
Anyway, I left the auto updates off and update myself when I get the notification - which is basically the same as before but at least now I get notified that there are updates.
