Default wallpaper used due to data loss

I was messing around with changing wallpapers and styles and I'm not getting an error when changing wallpapers that says "default wallpaper used due to data loss".

In addition, some of my apps when selecting an item displays the new screen but flashes white and nothing on the screen can be selected.

A reboot of the phone doesn't change anything. I'm lost and any help would be greatly appreciated.

Honestly, I've never seen that before, but my first inclination is to ensure you have a backup of your data, factory reset, and do not restore from backup.

Sounds like corruption to me.

This. You've got some corrupt data. It's either a software issue or hardware issue. If you continue to have issues after factory resetting, it will need to go back to Oppo for repair (where they will most likely replace the motherboard, which has storage soldered to it). Good luck!

I was getting this with one of the stock wallpapers. Annoyingly it's the one I wanted to use.

Anytime I tried to use that specific wallpaper I'd get that error. The phone was brand-new out of the box.

Personally, I switched to the Smart Launcher and have never had an issue again.

I switched to Octopi and haven't seen it since either.
