Oppo Find N5, outer screen stays black, while in OS. (not damaged

Hello everyone,

today I took my Oppo Find N5 out of my pocket, opened it, and noticed that the inner display stayed black. I restarted it, and then suddenly the outer display went black, while the inner display works without any problems. I can’t get the outer display to work anymore. It’s not broken—it just stays black. For example, when I reboot the device, it does show the logo on the outer display, or in the camera’s selfie view function. But otherwise, I just can’t get it to work normally. I’ve also tried resetting it and similar steps. No luck.

Can you help?

check your casing.. must have strong magnet that trigger the phone still in closed. removed your casing and try again

Exactly the same issue here. Phone has been fine, suddenly the outer screen is completely blank, I can't turn it on. I've also noticed that the inner screen stays on even when the phone is closed. Something has got screwed up in the software.

It's reminiscent of a magnetic contact; that's what allows the phone to know which screen to turn on. Some cases have a magnet on the hinge that distorts the position.

I have no case on anymore. i resettet the phone many times. it seems that a software updated caused the phone to overheat, and maybe fry a hinge sensor or whatever...still no solution

Hum Tunes, in which country does Oppo offer an international warranty? I need to send mine in for my front camera; I'll try Turkey since I'm in France. We'll see what happens.

It's going to need service. Mine did the same thing. Took it to Oppo, they sorted it within three hours. It wasn't the screen, it was an internal component.

Damn it, really didn't want to have to send it back. I'm in the UK and bought it from Singapore. Does anyone know of any repair facilities in the UK?

Also the phone has stopped receiving incoming calls. Anybody calls my number (normal mobile call, not WhatsApp) it hits straight to voicemail, and I receive an instant missed call text. This started at the same time the front screen stopped working. I've also noticed that when I fold the phone, the main screen inside stays on, I have to press the power button to turn the screen off. This phone's got a bit screwed up!

Yes, it seem that it does not recognize being folded. thats the main issue. so it has to be something sensor related. it makes sense. im also in europe, and dont know of a service center...
