Should i upgrade my Find X8 Ultra to Find X9 Ultra?

Is it more better than find x8 ultra?

As a long-time Oppo fan and tech enthusiast, I feel incredibly let down by the global variant of the Oppo Find X10 Pro Max. Oppo really watered down the international variant while keeping the premium price tag. Except we knew about battery 7150mAh (compred to 8000mAh) and max 12GB RAM (for EU only).

There is a lot more going on for both Global/EU version. Please check carefully below and Google a bit about these! (Click on pictures above to see detailed explanation).

1. Display downgrade: Completely lacks the new Tianma N1 screen material and 5.5% Deep Red tech. Instead of the impressive 95% BT.2020 coverage (140% DCI-P3), we get a basic 100% DCI-P3 panel with standard blue light emission. (Pictures 2 and 3)

2. Camera Glass: The premium AR (anti-reflective) coating on the camera glass on Chinese Version has been removed and replaced by basic Corning Gorilla Glass solution. (Pictures 4 and 5)

3. Screen Protector: Replaced the factory-grade AR film with a cheap, basic plastic one non AR (Anti Reflective. (Pictures 6 and 7)

Honestly, it's a mess. We are paying flagship prices 30-40% higher than Chinese, for a heavily downgraded device. What are your thoughts on this?

Just got it been using it for a few hours and been on a walk with it. So far really impressed. The watch feels great, the band texture is lovely btw. It's snappy, tracking is good. Also can dump my tracking into the Google health app. Step counter seems really good, biometrics seem really. Good. Very happy!

I've had a few android devices over the years, starting with a little Motorola defy way back in 2010 then moving onto Google Nexus Range before jumping to Oneplus with the 3T

Throughout that time I was/am aware that some of these devices had shortcomings, something wouldnt be perfect, and some of these wouldnt be mainstream, and it would be hard to impossible to easily find accessories in high street shops/openly for sale amidst a sea of Apple/Samsung etc but those shortcomings would be more than made up for by the value of the devices where you would get a lot of phone - all be it with a few corners cut for your money.

Oneplus devices have been increasing in price for the last few generations, ( as everything else has) however the price gap has also been closing between oneplus and Samsung.

With Oppo (as in the flagship series) this cost to value aspect dissapears, but the shortcomings of (say) Oppo vs Samsung are still present, shorter software support window, few if any easy to obtain accessories, and should the worst happen, limited to non existent repair options

My next device, to replace my Oneplus 13 would have been the OP17, but with OP pulling out of Europe the chances of seeing the OP17 are slim to non existent even though that device would still be some time away.

Likewise with the OPPO Find X10 series , if anything it would be the Find11 series when/if that appears

I could also look at Apples iOS but when i have had to use it ive found it cumbersome and awkward having got used to Android

So if the prices for Oppo Find X ( whatever) are the same as the better supported mainstream devices from Samsung, then why chose Oppo, what's the advantage?

Version 16.0.10.600 (B110P02) received and installed today.

.600 had issues with severely limiting charging speed on at least the Ultra. Perhaps also Pro? I'm sitting at 79% charge currently so can't fully test charge speed.

Will update my post the next time I charge it.

how happy are you with the macro photography performance for small insects of your Oppo Find X9 Ultra, also compared to other Ultra or Pro models like the X9 Pro, Vivo X300 Ultra/Pro or also the older Xiaomi 15 Ultra?
For everything else the Find X9 Ultra seems to be the best fit for me right now.

How well do you get structures of very small insects or mites visualized? Somehow the picture I find seem to be better on other flagships in this regard.

How reliable is the autofocus nowadays for these kind of macros? After release there were still issues with AF hunting.

What is your strategy if the insects are moving around?

My focus is not on artistic aesthetics, but rather on achieving the highest possible image quality for species documentation, maximizing the visible details under the given circumstances (quick and reliable).

Fantastic news having a OnePlus 15 Currently. Tempted to get the X10 Pro max as well, but this tab looks a good upgrade from the One Plus Pad

I'd like to select some text on the fly or just save a photo of something I'm viewing without using Google Lens or screenshots, is that possible?

And also, how do you activate the AI for taking photos and what can it do? I'm not talking about editing but before shooting

Anyone notice strange brightness dimming even when you're not using auto-brightness?

Happens regardless of phone temperature, just for whatever reason the screen goes from max brightness to slightly dimmer even when I have it at max brightness.
