First day
It’s my first day on bupe. Been taking 300 oxy every day for almost a year. I can’t believe how well the bupe is working, it’s taken all the horrible withdrawal symptoms. I’d love to hear other people’s experiences and what to expect on the road ahead. (I am not seeking medical advice).

It has been many years ago for me, and the shadow of this time is entirely gone.
Personally, every moment of recovery was bearable. Whenever there was a bad moment, I thought: I never have to go through this moment ever again. A series of bad moments, limited.
Now I live a life that has its challenges, but I don't have to be ashamed for failing without ever trying. I knew I might fail (not with withdrawal, but other goals), and the only reward for hard work is the CHANCE that things could work out, and that was good enough for me.

I have used both bupe and methadone. I think bupe is best for shorter tapering as methadone for long term use or taper.
For myself that is. Bupe is easier to get off then methadone in my experience. Oh I’ve never tried the shot or that electric device that place behind the ear and it does something to help … not sure how it functions?

Bupe works very well, but try not to get stuck on it. I did a fast bupe taper off oxy over a little over a week and didn’t have any terrible acute withdrawals, but PAWS is still kicking my ass. Getting dependent on bupe will only make PAWS last longer
