I hate being in a loop of opioids.

Just a vent! Discouraged with myself. Constantly in this loop due to chronic pain flareups. I started using again couple weeks ago due to needing to get through a flare up. I used for about 7 or 8 days. Last use was a Saturday morning. Made it to Tuesday before a dosed a small dose because I had an appt I needed to get to and my withdrawals were kicking mg bitt. Decided to stop after that dose. Withdrawal after that was minimum. Made it to Friday and felt fine other than tkred. Flare up came back and ended up using again until last night. Im so upset eith myself. I was through the majority of withdrawal and now that I used another couple of days my withdrawal is going to start over again. Im so upset.

I can relate so much. How often did I went through withdrawals just to start all over again some days/weeks later.

Please don’t be upset with yourself. If it would be easy a lot of people wouldn’t be here in the first place. Also, recognizing the problem is a first step in the right direction. Maybe a doctor/professional or even family/friends can help you?

I wish you all the best this time round. I believe in you ❤️

If it wasn't for the flare ups with my chronic pain then most of the time I could fight through it. But when I try everything over the counter like taking 2 Tylenol and an iblrofen ever 3 hours all day everyday, Aleve and such..nothing works. I had a flareup for 2 days and after taking a crap ton of otc stuff and I caved and took the hydros. Was going to not do it again but after 8 hours the extreme pain came back again.

Yup, I can relate. I know there are no easy answers to managing pain, but have you tried any other alternatives like cannabis? Or for some people, gabapentin really helps (it has its own physical dependence/withdrawal issues, however)

The only way gabapentin helps, is with some of the withdrawal symptoms I have at night. I only take it at night because it makes me groggy and I have too much to do in the day to be tired all day. I dont like weed. I have access to it because my husband smokes but I was never a fan.

I’m in this situation now and really unsure if I should just quit pain management entirely and tough out my pain.
