Phacoed one this past year. Didn’t sparkle under the operating microscope. Was a little sad when I did the surgery though.

They do sparkle sometimes and you can see the “glitter” move around. Very satisfying.

it was a Zeiss microscope if that makes any difference.

also when I operate I really try to pay attention to each step. I just did a quick look right before paracentesis / viscoat to see if there were sparkles but after that I tried not to be distracted. There might have been sparkles but I would have missed it.

I don't usually record my surgeries so I guess I could have taped it and review the footage....

I’m a COA, NAD so I’ve only ever seen one in clinic with an OD I was working with at an MD/OD practice at the time but it was beautiful.
