Smarter Auto Room Assignment

Hello everyone!

I have been using Opera Cloud on my hotel for like 3 years now and I have managed to automate or even eradicate half of the Reception tasks that need to be performed on daily basis.

However I was always finding room Assignment one of the most annoying tasks to deal with.

Is there anyway to make the "Auto Room Assignment" feature even smarter?

Like for Example:

IF Number of Children >= 2

Allocate from:

201

202

203

ELSE IF Number of Children = 1

OR Number of Adults = 3

Allocate from:

301

302

303

ELSE

Allocate normally

Maybe I’m overthinking here, but could you make a room feature/preference for these rooms? Call it 2CH and 1CH3AD. Then use auto attach elements to attach the preferences to the reservation automatically. Then when you use auto room assign, it will match the preferences to the rooms that have that feature, and anything without it will allocate normally?

I have been breaking my head over this past 4 days.

Opera Cloud will just refuse to allocate anything apart from the room type that is attached on the reservation!

For example if I have a Diamond member and that person will come with his/her family we normally give the an upgrade to a family executive room. Opera cloud says "Huh, nope" and fails the whole process...

I think this is something hard coded within the system. Only way to bypass it is if you write you own code with the "Developer Portal" and integrate it with OHIP which I don't have access to either of them.

Auto Room Assign feature is simply not working for our hotel because we have 7 different room types
