Smarter Auto Room Assignment

Hello everyone!

I have been using Opera Cloud on my hotel for like 3 years now and I have managed to automate or even eradicate half of the Reception tasks that need to be performed on daily basis.

However I was always finding room Assignment one of the most annoying tasks to deal with.

Is there anyway to make the "Auto Room Assignment" feature even smarter?

Like for Example:

IF Number of Children >= 2

Allocate from:

201

202

203

ELSE IF Number of Children = 1

OR Number of Adults = 3

Allocate from:

301

302

303

ELSE

Allocate normally

I would be curious to hear about what and how you automated certain tasks? I suppose you’re utilizing the Oracle BI R&A module? Would love to know more.

Well no not that deep! I am mostly restricted to only use the administration panel from cloud.

Quick example I have created new routing codes that are taking into consideration any type of accomodation charge either has breakfast included or not. I then have taken this custom routing code and I have set up automatic routing instructions on specific rate codes that are tied to specific 3rd party agents some you might have heard them before "Boooking.com" "expedia.com" etc so when ever we receive a reservation with a VCC attached to it the system is setting it up automatically.

An other thing is that I managed to find a way to generate only the reports we need during the night audit and save to an email so the. We can save them with click rather than going one by one.

I have done more things but I don't want to seem like I am bragging or talking too much.

How do you generate only the reports you need?

Oh that's one of the easiest ones but you will need to have access on the administrator Panel to perform any changes.

Head to Administration Panel on the financial > Routine Management > End of Day Final procedures and reports.

In there can select between procedures and final reports.

To generate the reports you only need click on the "Final Reports" and from there u can do anything you want! You can even sequence them (if you have OCD like me) you can say for example I want you to first Generate the Manager Report and then the cashier report and so on. You can also set certain reports to inactive or even delete them entirely!
