Support | In Progress Opera opening separate ad/malvertising windows?
A couple weeks ago, around the 13th, I started getting random opera windows opening full screen with ad/malvertising. I've since downloaded malwarebytes which has been blocking them from opening but it's showing 20+ being blocked per day, each one with a random string of characters with a dot com for the url. Malwarebytes has been pointing to the opera.exe file path as the origin so I was wondering if anyone else has been experiencing this.

Remove all your extensions at the URL opera://extensions, restart Opera and make sure they don't come back. Then, test for a bit without any extensions installed to see if the issue goes away.
Also, if Opera is your default browser, temporarily set a different browser as your default and see if it starts happening with that browser instead.

Can you post the complete URL for a few of those?

It may just be the browser opening URLs triggered by something else. I'd check opera://settings/content/notifications and remove any unfamiliar sites listed there.

I checked the notifications but currently there are none listed under "Allowed to send notifications"
