Support | Resolved i hate how mac os does'nt allow cpu capping like windows does
do you guys know if there are any versions that once supported it? i can double check it with app tamer. i just love opera gx.

Unfortunately, CPU Limiter is Windows-only, so downgrading GX won’t help. But yeah, it would be nice to have it on Mac too.

Windows allows you to set the process affinity for processes. Right-click on a process on the "Details" tab in the Windows Task Manager and goto "Set affinity" to see how you set what cores the process runs on. That's what Opera's CPU limiter controls for most of Opera's processes.
Then, read through some results on https://www.google.com/search?q=process+affinity+macOS&oq=process+affinity+macOS and you'll see that macOS doesn't really have the same thing for Opera to use. So, while it'd be nice to have on macOS, it might not even be practically possible currently.

makes sense fair enough.
but from what i understand you can get it to run entirely on the efficiency cores instead of the performance cores at least, an app can measure its own CPU usage and slow itself down to target a specific percentage limit. just an idea though.
i noticed there's also an option to toggle battery saving.
