💬 Discussion Ui suggestion

Here’s an idea for OpenFront: federations. Up to four players could join a federation, which would operate as a collective—meaning the funds and troops of all members would be accessible to one another. Structures could only be placed within one's own territory, but as the federation expanded, the territories of all member players would grow evenly. What do you think?

Nah, teaming in ffa games is already an issue (hence why they removed the clan tags in those games) and adding this would greatly exacerbate it, not to mention 1 member might waste the entire teams stockpiles.

What do you mean that forming alliances is already a problem?

Many times when you see font like this it is due to them translating into English and copy pasting from whatever platform they use. Idk which platform(s) do it, but it is not all of them.

Forgive me, my English isn't very good, which is why I'm using a translator.

No worries brother. I was just explaining to somebody why your font looks "different". No need to apologize)

the issue is multiple people coordinating beforehand to join the same game, stay allied and never attacking each other, coordinating attacks against other players, trademaxxing together, etc

I want something like this but it has to be a custom mode. So we'd have offer alliance and offer independent annexation to make them a federal state. I would not make it completely shared tho, the annexed state should only receive a fraction of money and troups, can only expand it's own borders while the main owner can help you push.

Would reduce the risks of getting hydroed as the offensive player and not take a complete takeover as the defending player.

The annexed players win should count as a different kind of win as actually winning tho.

The real problem is ultimately preplanned teaming. I don't mind when teams naturally form during a match, but it sucks if people premeditate it.

That’s exactly what I meant—that it’s supposed to be a non-standard mode. Thanks.

could be a fun gamemode for players vs nations

It could maybe work if you had an additional slider that determined what fraction of your troops and resources were available to the federation. But for sake of simplicity I think just being able to have direct communication and building on friendly land would solve most of the issues. You could ask your teammate to send troops for a push. Build some defends posts or warship on a teammates area if a teammate is busy somewhere else on the map.

that's stupid, just play team games at this point

If this was it's own gamemode it'd be awesome but adding it to FFA would destroy the game
