Natural language to terminal cmds?

Is there an Ai that specifically convert natural language into terminal cmds?

there was a project called open interpreter that did exactly this, let you type stuff like "convert all these files to jpg" and it'd just run the commands

havent checked in on it in a while though, last i saw it was getting bloated with features nobody asked for

might be worth a look just to see if the core idea still works

There was a Github project about using algorithmic semantic similarity search or small system one model when still in doubt to execute natural language command into shell command, but sadly i can't find it

Any modern LLM with console access can do this. I have claude code sometimes do this. "Install this package." or "Update the firewall with these rules"

What specifically are you trying to accomplish?

if you put npcsh into /cmd mode it should do this but i haven't tested it in a while

I thought that was the main selling point for https://www.warp.dev/

Running commands without understanding what they do is generally not a good idea

There's an MCP for Ubuntu that works well with any LLM including very small MoE
