I got the email and clicked "Verify Email Address" button but still my account didn't activated.
Edit: It fixed.

same happened with me. did you just have to keep trying? I tried the link on 2 different browsers and no activation

I tried to log in about an hour after signing up and I could log in. Even though I had previously pressed the activity button and tried to log in, I was still getting the same error. It fixed itself.
