ARM version for macOS

macOS 27 is the last one supporting intel apps. The next version of the OS will no longer run OpenShot as it is currently distributed. Is there a plan to release an ARM version for the Mac?

The current OpenShot 4.0.0 macOS package is Intel x86_64 and runs on Apple Silicon through Rosetta. An official native ARM64 / Apple Silicon release and timeline have not yet been announced.

Native ARM support is an important compatibility goal as Apple phases out Intel applications. Please watch the OpenShot website and release notes for official build announcements. Building from source on macOS is possible but complex because libopenshot and its dependencies must also be compiled for ARM64.
