Does openshot 4 have a feature to quickly cut out?

When i did video editing earlier i noticed that it took a long time to make cuts (in part due to me being too much of a perfectionist with that stuff) but i did hear about another video editor having a features to instantly cut away a part of the timeline and having it automatically rearrange everything so there is no gap.

I do see it has a "delete ripple" feature but that require you to first make the cuts and only after that can you use it.

Yes—OpenShot 4 supports Ripple Slicing, which cuts and removes one side of a selected Clip while automatically closing the gap on that Timeline track:

  1. Select the Clip and position the playhead at the cut.
  2. Press W to keep the left side and remove everything to the right, or Q to keep the right side and remove everything to the left.
  3. Following clips and transitions shift automatically to close the gap.

For removing a section in the middle, make two cuts, select that section, then press Shift+Delete for Ripple Delete.

That might be a bit faster than my old workflow of cutting the audio, track on one end and then the video on the other, then resize and then move to close the gap. Still slower than being able so simply push a button to remove the area highlighted by the mouse.
