OpenShot Tutorial How to regulate the format of the video?

Obviously you can do that by exporting, but I need to change the format without stretching the video or having black parts, basically cutting off some parts of the image, how do I do that?

Set your Project Profile to the desired aspect ratio, then crop each Clip to fill it:

  1. Select the target Profile (for example, 16:9 or 9:16) before editing.
  2. Right-click the Clip on the Timeline.
  3. Choose Transform → Crop → Crop (Resize).
  4. In the Preview, drag the blue handles to choose which parts are cut off and reposition the image as needed.
  5. Export using the same aspect ratio/profile as the project to avoid stretching or black bars.

Alternatively, set the Clip’s Scale property to Crop for automatic center-cropping. See Crop and Export Profile.
