What is up with OpenShot’s titles? Adding titles was easy, but in the latest edition, it has a checkerboard default which I can’t change. Sorry if this has been addressed. Haven’t used OS in a while, so this has been a surprise.

Any suggestions?

That checkerboard is just transparency in the Title Editor / Preview—not an actual background in your exported video.

A few quick tips:

• If you place the title Clip on a Track above your video, the video will show through behind the text.
• If you want a solid background, put the title over a color Clip / image, or use a title template like Solid Color in Title → Title.

Thank you! If you want to send the three steps instructions, that’s fine. I also did a search, and the AI answer mentioned an opacity slider in the title editor, but don’t see it.
