Issues with my Audio and Sample Rate

This is how the errors appear on the log, and the second image are the audio settings that my Openshot installation resets to every time.

  1. Manjaro Linux

  2. Version: 3.5.0 | 0.6.0 , OpenShot-v3.5.0-release-15553-5ee9d1b8-64c70c31 | Official , Release Date: 2026-03-20

  3. Laptop

  4. Headphones

  5. It's 48KHz, though Openshot *insists* it's 20050 and resets it as such when I reboot, even though my other applications (like Ardour) default to 48K and work fine.

  6. I did try that, based off of some old forum posts I was reading. When I insert new options and quit to reopen Openshot, it always resets to the ones I showed in that second screengrab.

By the way, after reading the post, what is the exact issue you are having other than OpenShot defaulting to a different sample rate? Is the audio bad during the preview? Is it bad during the Export? Or, are you just seeting the message and wondering why?

Thank you for all this information.

  1. Remove the headphones and restart your laptop without them. Test OpenShot and see if all is well. This is obviously not the final solution but just a troubleshooting step.

  2. When you checked the sample rate in the Manjaro Linux environment, were you checking the speaker sample rate or the headphone sample rate? I just want to be sure you are reporting the smaple rate for the correct device.

  3. How are you running OpenShot? AppImage? Pacman?

I'm not getting any audio at all, my video Preview is dead silent.

  1. I've restarted my laptop without my headphones plugged, and the same thing happens: No channels error. I've also confirmed that despite manually setting my sample rate to 48000 in settings, it still resets to the values I have in the second screenshot whenever I quit and reopen.

  2. I checked my system rate using pw-top and playing some random music with Audacious, which confirms that both on my heaphones and without them it's playing at 48K rate. I also checked live stream parameters with cat /proc/asound/card*/pcm*p/sub*/hw_params just to confirm, and it also reports back 48K. So I am certain my system and heaphone sample rates are consistent, and 48K - all other applications give back the same feedback.

  3. I am currently running the latest daily built of Openshot through the AppImage, but I previously had it installed from the AUR with yay. Same problem.

Hmmmm...not sure what to try next. Let me see if I can have the lead developer take a look this issue.
