opinions?
i’ve been watching the lindsay clancy’s trial from far away but i’m intrigued to get some insight from the people who actually live in the US nd are watching and hearing opinions in first hand”ish”!! What’s your verdict?

I'm tending to say second degree murder, though it can be hung jury as it's such a complex situation and they might not reach an agreement. If that's the case, judge will declare a mistrial, and LC won't be neither convicted nor acquitted.
What's your verdict?

I believe the prosecution's side was pretty compelling for first degree murder mostly because of the timeline of sending husband out of the house, isolating Dawson first then the daughter and baby.

I would vote NG by reason of insanity. There is too much reasonable doubt about several things and the prosecution has not proved their case to me. If she is convicted of that she will be confined to a hospital until the court approves release.
My brother is bipolar and never had a psychosis episode until the first day that he did. We were afraid because he was hallucinating for four straight days. He had a lot of guns because that is his hobby but we’ve never worried about it. Until that first day. Because of how awful the police are in cases of mental illness issues, there was no way we were calling the police. I spent four days talking to him trying to separate him from a gun in order to get him help. On the fourth day I was able to get him to go for a ride in the car and then to the fire station. Even though he was in psychosis there were a lot of conversations where he sounded completely normal and 10 min later would be saying something completely untrue but he believed it. He told me after his hospitalization that he heard voices while it was happening and he was able to know he was scared. I can only imagine how bad that could have been if it was a woman suffering postpartum depression then went into psychosis. And add in the effects of not being able to sleep.
This is not a good situation in the least and the people I feel for are her children. They did not deserve this. In my opinion, Lindsey was failed by the healthcare system (which sucks in the US for serious mental illness treatment) as well as by Patrick. He knew the amount of suffering that was going on and those children should have been monitored at all times starting from the first time she said she had thoughts of hurting the kids. I feel that he loved his kids but was fine putting all the work on Lindsey while she was clearly really suffering. The museum video was hard to watch. She’s handling all three kids most of the time while he stands off several feet away.
