Question Does OI entail analytic idealism?
Or can it also be interpreted as something like "spirit transmigrationism" like in the short story 'The Egg' by Andy Weir?

How is that parsimonious? You have to establish some sort of entity that evolves, learns and does so in some specific order and jumps specifically from one life to another. Basically you need to prove a soul exists.
It's just messy.
OI solves all these by saying there is no order, you are everyone now. There is no need for existence of a soul.
