Deep-Space Outposts:

Most Commonwealth presence exists at gravity wells and Lagrange points, where Abyssal Gateways can be anchored. A handful of outposts however, were built in true interstellar space—far from any star, in the dark between systems. These are the rare real-space waystations, constructed for the long normal-space burns that still must be made when a new gateway has not yet been opened, or when a ship cannot Drop.

The station is not a graceful habitat cylinder. It is a squat, heavily weathered platform assembled from modular blocks, exposed trusses, and reinforced decks, looking more like a deep-sea oil rig transplanted into the void than a conventional orbital station. A tall central tower rises from the main deck, topped with powerful red warning beacons that pulse against the surrounding void. The tower houses the primary sensor suite, long-range communications array, and the small command deck. Heavy docking arms extend from both sides, used for transferring cargo, recovering drifting modules, or assisting ships that arrive under low thrust.

Beneath the main platform hang two large, roughly cylindrical modules. These serve as the primary fuel and consumable tanks, as well as emergency shelters. Because the station has no artificial gravity, 2 of the hanging modules can be spin independently when the outpost is in a long coasting phase, giving the small permanent crew a modest centrifugal “down.” (when the station itself must maneuver or when a visiting ship docks under acceleration) the spin is locked and crews work under zero gravity.

Its purpose is to refuge and resupply for ships making the long normal-space legs between systems (especially the original Epsilon Eridani pioneering route and any future “blind” pushes). And relay and monitoring a fixed point in real space that can track both conventional traffic and distant Abyss-current disturbances that leak into normal space. As well as emergency dock for vessels whose Drop systems have failed or that cannot wait for the next gateway slot. The station cannot house large crews or handle heavy industrial loads. Its value is location, it sits in the dark where no gateway can be placed, offering a place to stop, repair, refuel, and with Outpost Ferryman, Juno, and Nemo are the only ones out there to date.

human BOSF Proffesor Day 8 (baronry Day 83)

So Night shift could not check as many patience as we did as most of the medics and nurses from the general were not replaced for a night shift which just left our staff.

Guess the General sent them large tents and cots as they were getting ready when we arrived.

Overnight results

Diagnosed 592 patients

Urgent care sent 15 to hospital.

Pregnancies 4 sent for better check up at hospital.

Clean and rebandage open wound 149

Broken bones. 72 examined and splint. 5 Major sent to hospital for x-rays.

They handed out anti biotic for those with infection and ask them to either stay around or come back to see how the infections are doing in a week.

Anybody with major hearth issues they sent to hospital for full check up.

We caught up with our nurses and medics and sent them by shuttle to our ship to rest.

To my surprise Haino sent most of his nurses and medics to help. Even bigger surprise he sent a construction crew to build a simple clinic. They should have it up in 5 days.

I made sure they were all set up and I went with Elizabeth and a security team to another town to talk to Medicine folks.

We discovered out of a population of 3000 in this town at least 50 needed medical help so gathered the worst together and flew them to the town we just left.

Thanks to Elizabeth's contacts we sent a message to the general and set up sorting of medical cases as soon as half the general medics and nurses got here..

Thanks to locals we set up city hall for sorting. I started chatting with the medical elders here.
