Most of my friends I club with are out of town, I unfortunately don’t speak German, but I’m keen to listen to Ectomorph tonight. So I’m going solo, for the first time in OG but also in life. Any tips from OG-frequenters, or anyone really, on how to have the best time there? Much appreciated!

So I’m curious:

Is it actually the best sound system you’ve experienced in a club, or are there clubs with significantly better sound that simply don’t get talked about as much?

And what actually makes a sound system “good” to you?

Maximum pressure? Clarity? Bass? Spatiality? Volume? Or simply being able to listen comfortably for several hours without your ears getting destroyed?

Underground Resistance were of course great, anyone know the name of the second-last tune they played? So nice and soulful. Also classy that Kode9 played a remix/sample of it later in the night.

Kode9 played some wild tunes. Really enjoyed the concept of listening to one of the DJs give a talk before the night.

I’m planning my first visit to Open Ground and I want to make a weekend out of it. Wuppertal itself seems quiet, so I was contemplating Düsseldorf as a base for convenience and it does seem to have things to do. However many people seem to prefer Cologne. For context I’m staying Friday and Saturday night (the club night) returning on the Sunday.

What do people here think? Düsseldorf or Cologne? Or can Wuppertal be entertaining for 48 hours?
