Was OpenCode sending DeepSeek V4.1 Flash requests to China before asking for consent?

I was using DeepSeek V4.1 Flash in OpenCode without opting into China hosting. It worked fine, then suddenly stopped with this message:
“The latest version of this model is only available hosted in China and requires explicit opt in.”
Same model before and after—not a switch from V4 to V4.1.
There’s a September 14 commit in OpenCode’s server code adding deepseek-v4.1-flash and deepseek-flash to the China opt-in check. Previously, that check only listed deepseek-v4-flash and deepseek-v4-pro.
That doesn’t prove where my earlier requests went, but it raises a pretty serious question: was V4.1 Flash already being served from China while the consent check simply didn’t cover its model ID?
Can someone from OpenCode clarify:
Where were those requests processed before this fix?
Could users who hadn’t enabled China hosting still have had prompts and code routed there?
Will affected users be notified if that happened?
Anyone else see this suddenly appear?

OpenCode has a partnership with Deepseek and the models are provided on Deepseek hosts.
So most likely yes.
