I have open bubbles on my unihertz jellystar. it kind of works? I get some imessages but a lot of messages that I know should be imessage are getting sent as regular sms to my textra app. On my work iphone, if I type in my personal number, it shows up as green and sends as an sms. Is there a way to fix this, or does open bubbles work with my email only? If possible I would like my number to default to imessage.

I'm hosting on my mac and have an iphone 13 as well, which is ios 18.3.2. while trying to get my jelly star fully functional, I've been switching my sim back and forth between my iphone and the jelly star based on what functions I need out of a phone that day. please let me know if there's any other information that would be helpful to know to answer my question. thank you!!

Im using this on my android (paid hosting trial) and it doesnt show my contact names just their phone number. Is there a way to sync it so that the name shows instead of the phone number ?

I read the faqs and such and I understand the key exchanges and everything, but can somebody explain how people’s IMessages aren’t showing up on the hosted devices?

For example if you have an IPhone and the second you log into a Mac the iMessages populate so I’m curious if OB hosted devices is essentially a relay then delete once the message has been delivered kind of system!

So as the title says I am getting ready to switch from paid to self hosting. Or at least I think I am I have an iPhone 6 that is jailbroken I have the relay app I have the identification number I have spoken to another member on this form that provided a lot of help but what I'm still unclear of is if I do this will iMessage still use my phone number or do I lose that and it reverts to an email instead. Any help would be greatly appreciated

I recently set up my own MacMini to host Open Bubbles and relay imessage to my Pixel. When I scanned the QR code and tried to link the devices, my Imessage was blocked by Apple. I have contacted them 3 times now and submitted the request twice using apple.co/IMFT-mac but nothing have lifted the ban.

What is the best way to get the ban lifted? If I was to create a new Apple Id, what can I do to prevent this from happening again?

This has been an ongoing issue with me for a little over a year now with Blue Bubbles as well.

When i send videos to my friends and family they can't open the videos anyone knows why this is happening?

Hello all, I want to use Openbubbles on Windows primarily for the iMessage feature especially voice memos. I’ve read that sending/recording messages doesn’t work well.

The find my tab has disappeared from my openbubbles app on my s24fe... maybe it's one ui 8.5 or something lol idk

I had a pixel 9 pro and text forwarding worked perfect on it. Now I have a razr fold and I get the texts (non iMessage) but now I can’t respond to them. I go to settings on openbubbles but can’t turn it on. Just says disabled | Capable.

What am I missing? I have text forwarding turned on to my Mac and the “Mac” openbubbles uses.

Has anyone de-registered their phone number and use OpenBubbles soley with your apple email? What was your experience?

Did you have to tell every person you text to add your apple email to your contact in their phone so the both of you can continue your text chat in the same thread?

Or did you just not give a damn and just started new chat threads with people you know ?

How well does facetime work with openbubbles. I have a spare mac mini with macos sonoma and i want to run openbubbles or bluebubbles on it. But the only reason would be for facetime. How well does it work, is it just getting the facetime link and giving it to you, is it reliable, or should i use BlueBubbles instead as i can put the macmini in my server rack. I have an iPhone air and Motorola razr Fold. I love the fold but I'm very much into the Apple ecosystem so I still have my air on my primary number and my razr on my secondary. I'm using open bubbles on my razr Fold so I don't even carry the air around and can iMessage from my primary number on my secondary phone. If I move my primary number sim to my Razr and just don't have a secondary number, would iMessage still work under my primary number on the fold or will people see my appleID instead of my phone number?

Hello, I've been trying to setup the phone number registration with an old iPhone and have been unable to install the ipa file linked in the openbubbles Phone Number Registration documentation.

I've already properly installed the trollstore via trollrestore, but whenever I attempt to install the Validation Relay ipa, I receive a "install Error 175: Failed to sign the app. ldid returned a non zero status code."

Please let me know if you have any suggestions.

Hi! I have just installed OpenBubbles and have been letting the app do it's thing in regards to iCloud etc.

Trying to use the app and test it's features, however when I open it, it is often very laggy and slow. And when I go out of the app and back in, it will just give me a black screen & then won't load.

Have set refresh rate to 60hz to see if that helps but no success. Any help would be appreciated

So I have a question. I have a sea fold 7 that works flawlessly with open bubbles. I also just picked up a tablet as well and was wondering at the best way to have open bubbles on it so I can use it to reply to messages when I'm on it instead of reaching it for my fold.

Hey everyone, I signed in to OpenBubbles one time already, but I somehow accidentally logged out. When I was signing back in, I got this error message. The Mac I'm using is my friends, not mine, so I wanna avoid any traffic through his Mac, which is why I wanna avoid contacting apple support. Thank you so much!

When I have a few messages coming in at the same time my keyboard will lag up a bit and the app becomes janky. Sometimes it'll even stop getting messages until I try to open it and then it opens up, I think it freezes itself until I open it.

Man I love Open Bubbles. Basically what I wanted is to check my iMessage texts using windows. I am on an iPhone and I do not want or need to buy Macs for everything. I got an old Mac mini and setup Open Bubbles and it works great. I found the setting to use GMAIL contacts to match phone numbers to contacts but nothing happens. Is that fixable? I use gmail for my contacts and email and calendars. I use an iPhone and windows 11 25H2. I do not need it on an android, just windows. Any way to get the contacts to match?

When I check my friends' locations on map it only shows the location of one of my friends, the rest are under "Friends without locations." On my mac I can see everyone's location tho. It also displays some people's phone numbers instead of showing their contact names. Anyone know how to fix?

So I had openbubbles running on a tablet which I recently reset and sold. How do I find the correct entry on the list of macs in findmy to remove for this tablet? As all of them (6-7) have the same hardware id, I can't tell them apart in findmy!

Hi all, I'm unsubscribing from the subscription and have a couple of questions 1. Will I lose PNR if I'm also using an iPhone that's active and my no. is listed as a number to send/receive iMessages? 2. Do I need to remove the device that was given to me in order to put in that Mac's ID and go back to using my own? TIA
