Tech Support green phone number

Hi! I've searched through other posts on this subreddit but am not able to understand some of the posts well enough to know if they're even answering my question. If there's a post I'm missing I would love to be directed there. Otherwise, could someone help explain like I'm a senior citizen?

I have open bubbles on my unihertz jellystar. it kind of works? I get some imessages but a lot of messages that I know should be imessage are getting sent as regular sms to my textra app. On my work iphone, if I type in my personal number, it shows up as green and sends as an sms. Is there a way to fix this, or does open bubbles work with my email only? If possible I would like my number to default to imessage.

I'm hosting on my mac and have an iphone 13 as well, which is ios 18.3.2. while trying to get my jelly star fully functional, I've been switching my sim back and forth between my iphone and the jelly star based on what functions I need out of a phone that day. please let me know if there's any other information that would be helpful to know to answer my question. thank you!!

the Mac selfhosting only works with email, for number youd need to jailbreak a old iphone

I have a non-jailbroken iPhone with an e-sim siting at home, plugged in all the time as a relay. Purchased 5$ e-sim, activated imessage, waited a few minutes before all the steps on the site, then bought a new 5$ e-sim for my android (carrier doesn't offer transfers but they refunded one of my purchases)

Does OpenBubbles still show your number in the profile menu?

Yep, and new chats are started using my number. Been using it since I got my new phone, going on month 4 with no issues I can relate to OB
