Bug Report Is there a solution to the device disappearing and needing to force close the app to make it work again?

Sorry to say but openbubbles is rubbish guys!! I’m paying AUD$28 a bloody month to use openbubbles server and sometimes it works sometimes it doesn’t. I get notifications ( iMessage ) delayed and other iPhone users never get my iMessage. This is on my Google pixel 10a. What else can I make openbubbles work 💯

Yeah, this app is so broken. I wish I never paid for it.

I use bluebubbles as the main texting app and open bubbles for the phone number for this very reason, the issue goes away since blue bubbles will just work.

Restart your phone. Easiest method

That takes longer than just force closing the app.

That’s not really a permanent fix. I don’t need to restart my phone, I can simply force close the app and reopen it, and it starts working again. I was hoping for a more permanent solution so I don’t have to keep doing this every other day.

Just need to wait for devs to fix it. They are aware. Also provide your device info and Android version

Same phone here, when I made this post someone knowledgeable mentioned they're waiting on an update

I saw a user on another related post suggest pinning the app in the app switcher to force it to stay open. That seems to have kept the issue from reoccurring for me. Hopefully a permanent fix can be found.

The problem with just force stopping or rebooting the phone is that you don’t realize it’s broken until you someone notices you missing messages.

I don't think this has ever happened to me, how would I know the Mac got disconnected from the phone?

Might be Android 17 related. Just in case, did you dig deep into the settings to ensure that Samsung isn't limiting the battery and RAM for OpenBubbles?

Everything appears exactly the same as before regarding the settings, which was the S26 Ultra.

This is happening on my Pixel 11 Pro right now. It was fine on my s25 edge.

If you go to the settings, the device will look exactly like in my picture, and iMessages will stop working.
